One of the best day hikes I have experienced. We got lucky with beautiful weather. View at the top
Shuttle from Chateau Tongariro Hotel dropped us at the *start point around 7:30am on Dec 19, 2017
Start(7:30am) Beginning first few miles is easy hike. My eight year old daughter is ready for the adventure
Then Steady and sometime steep climb starts.
The view can not be captured in any camera. You feel as if you are on another planet

The descend. Beautiful view of Lake Rotoaira (closer) and Lake Taupo (largest lake in New Zealand)
The hike changes dramatically during the last 3 miles.
Last few miles go through beautiful lush rainforest
Shuttle stop at the end. We were back in the hotel before 3:30pm.
