We drove from Grant Grove Village in Kings Canyon National park to the Silver City Mountain resort located in Mineral King part of the Sequoia National Park. The first 1 hour of the drive is through dense forest and full of switch backs. We made couple of stops for gas and short walks through the huge Sequoia trees.

To get to the Mineral king road, we had to first drive out of the park. The last 21 miles on Mineral king Rd is a slow and rough drive. The road is in a bad condition (go prepared in car that can handle rough terrain). The elevation gain in 20 miles is close to 8000 ft.

However, once we reached Mineral king area, we felt like it was paradise. It is hidden gem that you would want to stay forever. Since not many people drive up to this part of the park, we had trails and valleys to ourself.
