• Trek: Laguna De los Tres – 15.5 Miles, 2300 ft elevation gain
  • Start Time: 9am; Return: 3pm
  • Base: El Chalten, Argentina

One of the the most beautiful and exhilarating trek that I have done that goes through lakes, valleys, creeks, marshland, river, forest and steep clim to the foot of Mount Chaltén. This viewpoint at the end is the closest point to Monte Fitz Roy and neighboring peaks. The best and most famous trek of all.

Beginning of the Hike. One block from our hotel in El Chalten. The trail head begins at the end of Avenida San Martín, towards the north end of El Chaltén. Car parking is next to the trailhead if you plan to drive.
Initial Climb – Mile 1
During the first 2 miles of ascend, we arrived at this beautiful viewpoint of the valley of the De las Vueltas river on the right
A vista point close to the Lake
Climb through the Forest
The view of the peaks get a little clearer. A cloudy day. This is about midpoint.
Kids kept a good pace. It was just amazing to have this beautiful place to yourself.
Here we go, the last mile. Literally.. steep and tough.
Almost there. The last 1 mile took us an hour to climb. This was steep climb.
First glimpse of the destination. Just breathtaking. Wind was blowing and it was cold.
View of the hidden glacier lake
Beautiful Flora and Fauna along the trail
YES!!!! We did it. Another bucket list experience lived up to the hype.
Ended with a Beer at the Hotel. Can’t ask for a better day.
